We have a 55 year old redwood tank that was just pumped. The company said the tank still looks good. My question is: should the tank be filled with water immediately following the pump?
A few notes:
Tank is 1,000 gallon redwood tank built in 1959
Just my wife and I and we use about 60 gallons of water a day
Surrounding soil is sandstone and fill dirt.
My concerns are
1) empty tank + surrounding soil pressure = stress on tank walls
2) redwood boards drying up causing warpage which may lead to leaks.
with our water usage it would take over 2 weeks to fill up the tank.
Please help!
