    Replace or Repair?

This hot water heater has corrosion that is possibly going inside the tank. The HVAC was replaced years after the HWH was installed and is now trapped in the corner. How would you get the tank out if it needs replacing? Or would it just be easier to leave it in place, disconnect the existing...

Are these drain lines installed correctly?

Here is an updated look at the drain lines. I made the changes you all suggested. Let me know if it is correct, please. Also, I’m aware the laundry pipe is too tall it hasn’t been cut to size yet. The water lines aren’t crimped either just figuring out my layout.

Are these drain lines installed correctly?

For the 5 months that I’ve been here the sump pump does not go off and it has been raining a lot during that time. It’s located in the center of the basement with a drain about 3’ from it. It’s the lowest point of the basement and believe it is there in case if it were to ever flood. And yes the...

Are these drain lines installed correctly?

I do have a sump. The 1.5” galvanized line in the photo is connected to it, and in the first photo you can see it going outside the home. Here’s a photo of what the laundry looked like before I started moving drain lines. There is an approved sticker on the drain line so that’s why I assume it...

Are these drain lines installed correctly?

I appreciate the replies. I will address these issues tomorrow and get some new pictures posted to see if it is correct. The vent is 7 feet from the laundry box. I will adjust it to less than 6. I used Oatey Fusion Single Step to glue everything together. On the main side there will be a...

Are these drain lines installed correctly?

I was curious if the laundry drain lines and vents are installed correctly in these photos. Eventually, a sink for a 1/2” bath will be added, but I wanted to see if anything needed to be fixed before going any further.

Can you make your own pex supply line?

I was reading a plumbing article earlier today and it had this photo in it. It looks as if it’s a pex supply line with a push fitting at the end. Are these type of supply lines allowed? I’m curious because I can no longer purchase the hand tight only sink supply lines at my local hardware store...

    Pex To Hot Water Heater

I was wondering if I can replace the 1/2” line with a 3/4” braided line. The shut off was going on the cold side, and many homes in my area still have galvanized. A repipe would be nice, but not practical at the moment.

    Pex To Hot Water Heater

This gas hot water heater was installed three years ago, but I am concerned about the size of the pipe and 1/2” pex pipe being attached directly to the hot water heater. The tenant has not complained about anything, but I am curious if I should take the preventative-maintenance approach and...
