Adding water line for a new refrigerator

Thanks! No idea what it is, but it’s on a sump pump discharge line that doesn’t run that often and there has never been a problem that I’ve noticed.

Adding water line for a new refrigerator

We have an existing ice maker with a dedicated water line. I would like to add a refrigerator ice maker that is very close by to that line. Is that doable and how would you recommend doing it, i.e. what fittings etc.? The existing access point is behind the in-cabinet ice maker and has a long...

    Help with ball valve handle

Yeah, that may be a way, though I may need to take a few back in order to find one that fits, unless they are pretty standard in terms of the size of the stem? Good to know vice grip will work as it only gets turned twice a year and there is plenty of room around in the irrigation box. Thanks!

    Help with ball valve handle

The handle no longer fits (rectangular hole worn too big) on the main ball valve for my sprinkler system. I am not good at sizes, but it looks to me like the valve is maybe 1” coming in and 1 1/2” out? By any chance do all 1 1/2” valves have the same rectangular stem that the handle fits over...

    Broken p-trap?

Yep, it is the one by Charlotte, and believe it or not my son was able to get the nut back on and the whole thing back together. Bad news, though is that the snaking we did did not help as the clog must still be there. It must be way down as I got a surprise when I opened the clean out and...

    Broken p-trap?

Mr-David: you nailed it. That must be what happened. The nut is medal and all corroded which I guess allowed it to come apart when I unsuccessfully tried to loosen it. I took it to stores and they all told me I needed a 2 inch slip nut which lead to my original post. A 2 inch metal one is on...

    Broken p-trap?

House is 17 years old and we just bought it 6 months ago. Actually it is on an exterior wall, but there is also an island as well. The female end of the trap that the street elbow was in has a recessed what I would call receptacle in it. See pictures showing how it all goes together. I ran an...

    Broken p-trap?

Thanks so much! Any thoughts as to what I need to do now, and why sink may have clogged in the first place? The trap was not clogged. See added pictures.

    Broken p-trap?

In attempting to clean p trap under two kitchen sinks, the trap came apart at what looked to me like a corroded 2” slip nut. There was no washer however and I am wondering how a slip nut could go ever go what looks like a permanent washer of some sort that is a part of the PVC itself. (See...
