Today I'm going to take the little boy who burned my friend's house down to a dental appointment. It's a pediatric dental place so it is full of children. Last time I was there I was texting Grumpy Cat pics to people. We'll have to see how things work out today since I've been having headaches for over a week. Went to the doctor about it yesterday. He said to take aspirin and meloxicam (or whatever it's called) and to get plenty of rest. He also wants me to see my cardiologist since I've been having chest pain off and on for over a week.

Tuesday I hauled a "new" refrigerator for my friend to the trailer he's buying. It's a fixer upper and the landlord on the trailer park lot is a criminal. If someone is late on a payment, he breaks into their trailer and steals their stuff and sells it. Stole a washer and dryer out of some other friend's place. I'm worried that he will steal even when people don't owe him money, so I'm hoping my friend will get some very good locks and we will look in to some sort of system to record if the guy does try to break in. My friend gets along very well with the police though.

But I want to go find out whichever neighbor it is that has been spreading rumors about my friend. First said his teeth fell out from drug use (they were knocked out in the truck accident last year) and now someone is claiming the house burned because there was a meth lab in it. Maybe it's better that I don't know who it is, because I would be sorely tempted to knock their teeth out.

I've been contacting appliance companies to find out if any of them have coupons or discounts to help with people who lost things due to fire to see if we can find a good stove and microwave for my friend that will be affordable. Preferably stuff with child locks.

Meanwhile, the 6-year-old (who started the fire) stopped speaking after he returned to school. I don't know if one of the teachers said something to him or if it was other students, but I think someone upset him and he's sort of shutting down. He's going to have to see the child psychologist. If the kid would speak maybe we could get him to tell us who said what to him and then see about biting some heads off.

In the bit of good news, my mother has been more active and has been wanting to get out of the house and go more places lately. She really needs to do that. I'm hoping she will go with us today because I'm still feeling exhausted.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain reliever (NSAID). I took it for the pain in my knees for years, and is pretty gentle on the tummy.

As said before, your best bet is to write letters to your local service clubs explaining that these folks need help badly. Write the Rotary, Eagles, Moose, Elks, Women's Clubs, etc.

I don't go to church. The church my mother used to go to doesn't help people out since the new priest took over. He's an *******.

My friend used to go to church, but I don't know if he's gone since his accident. He's usually at work on church days. A few people from his church have pitched in, but part of the problem is that the economy in town sucks and the median household income in the area is half of the average median household income of the state. People just don't have enough $ to help out as much as he needs. It doesn't help that state sales tax just went up 1% so it's now 11% tax in town.

and man, the trip was worse than I'd expected. The dental appointment was at 2:30. We got there at 2:20. They didn't call him back until 4pm. We didn't get out of there until 4:40pm. Then the kid decided to be a total brat. When his mother told him she wasn't going to buy him something because he was misbehaving, he started screaming and acting like someone had hurt him and was just being a little *******.

And I had a greeter at Sam's Club block me from entering and be all *****y to me because I went to the parking lot to get a riding cart for my mother (since there weren't any working ones in the store) and I was riding it in to her and she stood in front of me and was trying to lecture me with saying "We don't do that!" and then said something about people taking the carts to the parking lot and I didn't know wtf her issue was because she wasn't making sense until I realized she thought that I got the cart for myself and didn't realize that I was trying to bring the cart to my mother. Another employee had to tell her to gtfo of my way.

I'm just glad I never had kids. I would not have the patience to deal with them.

I helped my friend fix his subfloor in his trailer and ran a few errands.

I noticed a major plumbing fail with his kitchen though. I wish I could find the appropriate thread for this, but it's so bad it made me laugh.

The old plumbing for the kitchen sink was ABS with an AAV (which is no longer allowed). Whoever had the place last decided to really redneck it up by removing the trap. Right under the sink's drain, it has a cleanout and a piece of some sort of hose that looks like it's from a vacuum is duck taped on, extended through the floor, and then run along and dumps out at the corner of the trailer.

I managed to pull my back somehow. I was standing up and going to put one of my cats out of the room. I was already holding him and I turned and there was a POP and my lower back felt like it was on fire.
Walking is agonizing. I'm currently sitting up in bed, but just moving my legs hurts.

If it gets worse, I might have to get my brother to help me out to the car and take me to the hospital when he gets home from work.

Hope you feel better zanne.

I worked on my jeep all weekend. Nothing special.

The weather is so dry I feel like I am going to crack and fall apart.

I ended up going to the ER an hour away because the local ER would have just sent me home. Ended up wasting a lot of time because these people are not efficient. Right away they said I needed an x-ray. an hour later they said I would first have to give a urine sample to prove I wasn't pregnant. Almost another hour later they took me for x-rays. Then I waited another almost 2 hours for results. By that time, I was having sharp chest pain radiating through to my back. I mentioned it when they were about to tell me x-ray results and the technician told me that he wasn't going to tell me the results and that they were not going to treat me if I had chest pain-- that I would have to go somewhere else. Basically, I'd have to leave and go to the back of the line. I'd already take aspirin so I told him to just give me the results. Nothing broken, but what he thinks happened was that a ligament somehow snagged on something and when I moved a certain way it stretched and then snapped down on the muscle (like when someone pulls an elastic band and releases) and it bruised the muscle. That would explain the loud POP my mother heard. Said I'd be given muscle relaxants and painkillers.
Over 20 minutes later the nurse brought me a pill and some water. She claimed it was a narcotic painkiller that would make me sleepy. It did absolutely nothing.

They wrote me a prescription for a muscle relaxant and some Ibuprofen. We stopped to eat at IHOP-- my brother had to help me get to the and from the table. Pain got worse on the ride home.

I managed to get into the house and to my bed by myself because my brother stormed off in a tizzy.

I took some of the meds I had left over from the car accident-- meloxicam and Tramdol (or whatever it's called).

I was shocked because my mother actually went back to the store to pick up my prescription and get me a heating pad while I was asleep. She hasn't gone to the store on her own in years. She's also been getting up more to hand me things and help me out.

Right now I've got a heating pad on my back and have taken the medicines to help relieve the swelling and muscle spasms.

I'm feeling a bit better now, but I'm tired.

Oh yeah, heard back from the cardiologist's office finally. They'll let me have an appointment on June 28.

Damn girl, you need to take it easy. You are always so busy caring for others that you yourself have fallen apart.

 Zanne you need to take care of yourself. To many people around you depend on you.

Hope every thing turns out okay.

Thanks guys.

I'm feeling a little better, but groggy from the Tramdol. Good thing I had a bunch left over since I barely used it before. I was too busy having to drive and I can't take it when I'm driving. I won't be driving for at least a couple of days I think. I can take it every 4 hours.

Everyone at the ER was nice to me except for the last guy who was telling me the x-ray results. Well, he was polite, but I got the impression he thought I was there to score drugs or something. He was all "It's good news!" and maybe I didn't look relieved enough to him because I was in so much pain. He actually asked "Are you sure you're having chest pain?" and then basically said I'd be kicked out and not treated if I had chest pain. He said they didn't treat chest pain there-- nevermind that a guy who came in way after me had come in with chest pain. I even told them when I first came in that I had a history of heart problems.

In retrospect, I think the urinalysis was to prove I wasn't on drugs. They did that to two of my friends in the past who came in with pain. They turned both of them away and it turned out one of them had kidney stones and had to go to another ER for tests and treatment.

Anyway, since I can barely get out of bed, I will definitely be taking it easy. It took me almost 10 minutes (and a lot of swearing) just to be able to get off of my bed. I made it to a sitting position with a lot of difficulty and then wasn't able to stand up for several minutes. I had to wait for some medicine to kick in to make the muscles stop spasming.

Chris, my hat is off to you, because I'm pretty sure you went through worse pain and just powered through it. I'm a big wuss. LOL.

zan, i had a back injury, pretty bad, now i have bars and bolts.

anyway, i was told that an xray is a waste of money for a back injury.

you need a MRI. a xray shows the bones, if they aint broke your ok
the mri will show the disc and soft tissue.
if your back still hurts, get your country doc to order a mri

and tell them SOB to give you something stronger than ibprofin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Frodo. I suspected the x-ray was a waste of time. I think they really just didn't want to treat me. They weren't taking me seriously and they didn't do a thorough exam. When I first got there they had a guy come out and ask me if I could move my legs and stuff-- I said that I probably could lift them if I really tried, but that it was too painful when I tried to do it. If they try to bill me for a drug test, I'll fight them on it, since I didn't authorize that. And they had me sign stuff without letting me see it, but I signed because I was in serious pain. In retrospect, I should have demanded to see it.

I'll have to talk to my local doctor about getting an MRI if it doesn't get better.

The Tramdol seems to be doing ok. The last time I was prescribed Vicodin it didn't work at all. Ibuprofen (in larger doses) ended up more effective. Although, it usually takes at least 1200mg to take the edge off the pain.

Meanwhile, I've been lying here with the heating pad and watching a Forged in Fire marathon. Anyone here ever watch that? They make swords, axes, and knives in a competition.
