Hello Folks,

I need to buy a new toilet seat. The trim cover is rusting pretty badly. Can someone suggest which toilet seat I need to buy? I have an elongated no-name-brand toilet, with some sort of quick-release toilet seat – pictures attached.

Thanks!

What brand of toilet is that? I do know your expanding attachment bolts look pretty rusty and should be replaced.

I don’t know what’s available in Canada, but Bemis makes nice SOLID seats with soft close. So does Mayfair and American Standard. Example:

BEMIS 7300SLEC 000 Toilet Seat will Slow Close and Removes Easy for Cleaning, ELONGATED, White https://a.co/d/aR5HIRj

One of my Bemis seats, round not oval, takes over an hour to close and they won't take it back on a warranty claim! They say you need to push it further toward the closed position to allow gravity to do its work.

I have three Bemis, none with this problem. Mine are made of heavy coated wood. I think the weight may make a difference?
