My mother called and told me she has a small leak on her water heater, figured ok, i will go look maybe get her a new one put it in for her but wth is this tank? This an old style expansion tank? thermal bladder system? I haver never seen anything like it. Anyone know what this is? btw, ignore that piece of pex, and the cable and romex, reckon it jas been laying there since she bought the house. But ya, was this some kinda closed system at one time? I do see she has globe valves all over place. House was built in 55. Thanks for any info.
