I went to our local Mexican restaurant and asked the manager if he was going to televise the big boxing fight tonight. He said he inquired purchasing the fight but they wanted $4,500 to show it at his restaurant, and was too expensive. Can you believe $4,500?

I'll have it on at my house. Come on over.
Viejas ( biggest local Indian casino around here ) is showing it on all their TV's. They are even going to set up a big screen out by their pool.

I have to work overnight tonight from 8pm to 6am putting utilities in for a Starbucks in a high end mall. Not allowed to make noise in daytime hours. And I can't sleep, gonna be a long night and miss the fight.

That sucks. Tough to get the body to switch it's time clock. Even if I'm up tell 4am I go to sleep maybe a couple hours. The sun pops up, I'm up.

I recorded it. It was Okay. Pacquico was the more aggressive fighter but Mr.Money's long reach and defensive style kept Pac from making them count.

Worked until 5am then had an hour and a half drive home. Got the job done and made money, can't complain too much.

I tried to help my mother get into the tub to sit on her shower seat, but she felt that the tub floor was too slippery and we don't have grab bars. so I ended up washing her feet for her. She's got a doctor's appointment in about an hour and my appointment is after hers. Hopefully the test results might explain some of whats going on with me. I don't want it to be anything bad, but it would be nice to know if there is anything I can take medicine for (as much as I hate to take it).

So, the test results are in. My "bad" cholesterol was 225 (should be under 100), my "good" cholesterol was 33 (should be 39) so I'm now on cholesterol medication. I was given a shot and antibiotics for the virus and sore throat as well as some other medication for my swollen thumb. He said if the thumb continues to get swelling they may need to do an injection (to which my mind silently said "hell no"). They checked my blood sugar because it was a bit high.

Mom is doing good though. The doctor did declare her "permanently disabled" so she can get a handicap plate on the car.

My brother's appointment is tomorrow. He had an asthma attack yesterday today he had to leave work early because he nearly passed out. The good news is that the supervisor said he's her best worker and she completely understood that he was trying but was too sick. He also thinks he may have torn his MCL in is knee so he's been having some trouble with it. I feel sorry for him on that front, but I also know it will translate into him not helping out around the house.

Anyway, when I stopped by the store where he was supposed to be working I happened to see a cheap coffee table that was just the right height and width to fit along my wall to hold my desktop pc. My pc has been sitting on the floor between to plastic bins. I assembled the table (was a bit bummed that the legs are hollow plastic so I may add some wood reinforcement later) cleared some space, moved the bins, replugged the surge suppressor in to the wall, put a rubber pad down to protect the surface and keep the desktop from sliding, set my desktop on it and then spent about 20 minutes detangling my cords. I also found my lost wireless mouse which eliminates one annoying cord. So now my desktop can vent better, my cats can feel special by being able to sit up higher, and they can hide out on the lower shelf. The new setup made it so I can have easier access to my phone and I can store things on the lower shelf (but left a little space for cats).

My doctor said I need to walk for about 15 to 25 minutes every day. He didn't seem to have a solution when I explained that if I exert myself one day, I don't wake up the next day sometimes. Its harder and harder to wake up even after a full night's sleep. I either don't wake up at all, or wake up somewhat and am too zoned to even move. but I guess I'll have to see what I can do. I started doing some leg stretches the other day and I need to keep up with at least getting the muscles moving. I have a weird thing where if I walk for while outside my hands and fingers swell up. I think instead of getting myself overwhelmed I'll just take it a day at a time and hope that the medicine helps.

and man, I'm babbling. I should have gotten a picture of my coffee table before I put it in. I'm ashamed to say that I have probably an 8 inch or taller layer of laundry on my floor around it. I really need to go through and get rid of stuff that isn't ruined and that doesn't fit anymore. I might eventually get back down to XL size, but I think its safe to say my days of wearing Medium size are over. still babbling... lol.

I do feel good about having put the table together and improved that space a bit. I know I need to finish my bathroom first, but I need to figure out a solution for Mom so she can use the shower--- maybe one of those shower seats where she sits down on the outside and slides in.

Well, I had my hip procedure done this morning. Home now, awoke a little while ago and starting to get up and move around. Almost 2 years of waiting now it's over and done with.

Yesterday was my last day of work for minimum 6 weeks. Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday were all 12 hour days so now expect me to be on the forum a lot more just lookin to talk plumbing :D

I'm actually gonna try and get thru the worst part without any pain meds. My thresh hold for pain is pretty high, and I've never been one for pills. No pills for headaches or muscle pain for me unless it's extreme.

OK, I will now lecture you like my doctor did to me. If you just had surgery, you will have pain meds going throughout your body for the next 2-3 days. Being stubborn, like I did when I had my knees replaced, will be counter productive you using less drugs. You will wake up in severe pain, so you will need double the Norcos or Oxy's to stop the pain. Then you will not be able to take the next dose when needed, so your pain management will be many highs and lows, This is what hurts. Take them as perscribed, keep the pain leveled out, any your need for them will lessen quicken than these highs and lows I spoke of.

Lecture done. :)
