Water Heater Supply Line Troubles

Hey all,

replacing an old water heater here and we're struggling to remove the cold water line. The setup is nothing like we've seen around YouTube and some searching. Any thoughts on how to remove it? Let me know if you need me pics

Well the good news it will look a lot like the videos once you fix that mess.

Why is there a PRV right there?

While you're at it, replace that saddle valve that is probably feeding a humidifier or something with a good 1/4-turn ball stop valve.

I mean, you can remove the union, remove the PRV, cut everything else out and start over but that’s not for the faint of heart
