Hello, my name is Matthew. Back in November two water company technicians made contact with us at our residence, and pointed out a huge water leak in our neighborhood. They informed us that the leak was coming from our neighbor's residence, and that we had nothing to worry about. Then, when we got our water bill (attached), it was over $1,000 and indicated that we had used 39,000 gallons of water during the course of ten days, that month. I have been fighting with them ever since and have brought several photos, testimony, and the like, into their office but they refuse to even look at it. They won't even interview the two technicians that they sent. All they will do, is to keep verifying our water meter, checking that it says what they say. Clearly, the water was fountaining from our neighbor's yard, and even she admitted it. She also said that her water bill was normal for that month (around $68). Somehow their meter is wrong. Our meter is right next to our neighbor's meter. Is there some sort of way that a pressure differential was created that reversed the flow of water from our residence through our water meter? Can anyone help us???

Sounds like the water company either made a mistake assigning meter numbers or they made a mistake and the leak was yours and not your neighbors.

Either way, no one here can help you.

You have to confirm that when you shut your meter, water stops flowing entirely ONLY at your home, then check for leaks in the main by shutting water at entry point into your house and see if the meter is running (assuming meter is at the street). At any rate, any good local plumber can help with this kind of stuff.
