Hello everyone,

I am doing a remodel and have tied my new bath drain into a conveniently placed existing vent. Based on my research I thought it would be okay in this circumstance but am now questioning the setup and looking for a second or third opinion. The new bath drain ties into the existing vertical vent stack coming up from the toilet on the floor below. The bath drain joins the vent stack with an elbow, directly above a T joint where the original vent pathway continues. Is this okay or should I re-think this setup?

In the photo below (looking down at the joists on the second floor) I drew the new bath drain pathway in red and the original vent pathway in blue.

Thoughts?

Can't have a tee on its side like that. The tub is not vented in that configuration. Most places don't allow flat vents like that. There is a lot to unpack here. Some more pictures and info would help.
