This was in the LA Times this morning...

A skydiver killed Saturday while taking part in a competition at the Perris Valley Skydiving Center has been identified by the Riverside County coroner's office as Sean Carey, 35, of San Diego.

Carey was attempting a solo maneuver in the competition about 9 a.m. Saturday when he suddenly plunged to the ground, officials said.

Carey was treated at the scene but died a short time later at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center. The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.

Five people died in fatal accidents at the Perris skydiving facility in 2011. Carey's death was believed to be the 15th since 2000.

Anyone with information about the situation is asked to contact officials at (951) 210-1000 or [email protected].

Not fun at all.

Doesn't help my stress level at work with guys in the hole.

Here are some random pics from today. Also this little guy came out of my trench to visit.

I was wondering....have you ever found anything unusual while digging a big hole like that? Any Bones? My lost buried treasure?

Some human bones once in an old Indian burial site, shut down the job for a month while they figured it out.

An old car and a thousand gallon fuel tank.

Other then that just old pipes.

Then why do you have it tattooed across your chest?

Picture 3 and 4, what are the pipes that appear to be turning down? What kind of installation is this?

That is more of an optical allusion, they are laterals off that main line and run flat but the way the dirt is it makes it look funny. That is the existing setup that I tore out today for the new one. See how good I dig. I can expose and entire system without breaking a pipe.

Speaking of finding stuff, today I found an old ford pick up key in my trench by the old sewer line.

So today I cut into and tied into three live sewer lines, so much flow that my boots filled with sewage mid day. Worked 12 hours but finally got this nightmare system hooked up and working. Here are some pics. Felt sooooo good to get home and shower after being covered in pooh.

Back at the same job site today?

Nope, out past la in a wonderful town called Simi valley. I love getting up when drunks are going to bed to go to work.

I did!

so while cutting out a section of 6" ductile iron water main today I got a shard of metal lodged in my eye, I can see it sticking out but can't get it. guess I will be heading to the eye doc in the morning. And before you give me crap i was wearing safety glasses.

Dang. Hope you can get in early.

I woke up several times throughout the night and it hurt like hell but then when I got up this morning it seemed to be out of my eye or it worked its way in deeper. Don't know if I should be worried or not.

Don't mess with the eye Chris. Get your ass down to the eye doctor now! (I might see you there because I also have something going on with my right eye)
