Hi. I am trying to remove my Roman bath faucet and rough in completely so that I can go with a different company for my new fixtures but am having trouble. I can get the faucet off and the top portion of the handles off but I am then left with pieces of piping and the bottom of the handles that won't come off. I have pulled, pushed, turned/tried to unscrew and nothing is working. I've tried finding old instructions online (house was built in 2003) but nothing is coming up. is anyone familiar with this rough in? I believe it is an american standard as that is what my shower faucets are.

I haven't ever worked on that vintage of American Standard, but I am thinking that the handle base will unscrew, and there will be another nut underneath that. But you will be ahead to loosen the nuts on the bottom of the tub first, so as not to scar the tub finish if a wrench slips.
