i have a deep well submersible 1 hp pump. i only turn it on to pump water for my garden and to fill storege tanks so i just have a garden hose hooked to it. i want to put a pressure relief valve on it in case the hose kinks and the pump keeps pumping which i assume will burn it out or blow a fitting. looking for advice on size and pressure . thanks for any help

so i guess if the hose gets kinked , the pump keeps going and just blows water out the valve?

If the pressure switch fails to cut the pump off and pressure keeps building the relief valve operates at a set pressure that’s marked on the valve, or close to it
