So I’m building an addition on my house that has a bathroom in the kitchen. Building permit says that the plumbing has to be pressure tested. Can anyone explain to me what that is? Pressure test the waist line? Pressure test the fresh water? Or both? And how is it done?.
Thank you

Some jurisdictions want the water piping tested at higher than normal, so you'll have to ask your inspection dept.
Drains, normal is 10 ft. head above the main piping or filled up through to the roof.

I can’t believe they’re allowing a bathroom in the kitchen.

Don’t crap where you eat comes to mind.🙁

We test copper to 80psi and I think pex is 150 psi

They want 5’ of water (head) in the main stack to test the underground on rough in.

On top out ( above ground ) they want water to the top of the washing machine drain.
