Hello i have a septic system. When we shower we get a sewage smell from our laundry room/crawl space. I'm starting to think there's a leak from our main drain to the septic tank which may be leaking into the ground water and coming into the crawl space through a leaking foundation. It doesnt always smell. If it has rained recently we get the smell but if no rain for a while it "usually" doesnt smell. I guess my question is should I dig it up and replacr or what should my next step be?. I have posted on this forum before with the same issue to no avail. I have tried most everything. Checked drain vent, pumped septic tank even fixed a small leak in the pipe going from one of my sump pumps to the septic which i have no ifea why the previous owners had a sump pump pumping into the septic system. If anyone has any insight I would very much appreciate it!
