Hi there. I recently cleaned out my shower drain. Before starting I noticed a lot of hair in it and now that the hair is gone the drain is much louder when running water. I assume it is because the hair is gone that there is nothing to dampen the sound when it hits the P trap. I looked online for solutions and people are putting a pvc pipe with a plastic chain and some other things in the drain to dampen the sound. Is that a good thing to do and if not does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you for any advice

That chain will catch debris, and clog faster, are you in a house or a apt/condo complex
Thank you for the response.....I am in a House.....my concern with the chain is it falling all the way into the trap
