IPC Drainage for Prep Sink

I have a hotel with full kitchen. I understand that the 3-comp sink requires an indirect drain to floor sink, but what about double bowl and single bowl 'prep sinks'? Do they too require indirect drain per IPC? I'm hearing conflicting views.

I’m not sure what the IPC says but Our city code requires all prep sinks to be indirectly connected to the drainage system.

Maybe someone can chime in with a current ipc book

IPC 2021 says:



IPC 2015 added, "Each well of a multiple-compartment sink shall discharge independently to a waste receptor."
