you put a gauge in both ports an you can set the GPM thru it.

used in hydronic heat /cooling to adjust the flow thru the coil for efficiency .

Makes sense, just get a pitot tube and do a bunch of math before hand. Might take a day longer but then you will not need a dohickey.

i work for a mechanical contractor

we do quite a bit of hydronic air handlers (the fitters, they have the work around here)

they get new tools constantly and the old ones sit there till someone asks for it

got some nice yellow jacket manifold gauges and some other stuff, good place to work
