Had to share this one.
This sewer repair had to be hand dug 12' deep under a concrete block wall.
Took 4 guys 2 1/2 days to dig out and shore up.
It was all sand. I've done my share of digging deep holes but this one has to be the biggest one by hand yet.
When compared to some old abandoned mines I've seen in the desert though this aint nothing.
The job was to repair one lateral from one house.
It just happened to be the bottom one and they originally cut a hole into 6" clay tile pipe and inserted a 4" clay into the hole.
Homes were built around 1940.
