Thank you to all the knowledgeable people who help on this forum. I have noticed that when our washing machine drains, water comes out from behind the wall in the finished basement. I confirmed the water is not coming from the machine itself, so suspect there is an issue with the drain line. I snaked the drain with a 25 ft cable, took some effort to push through but did not see anything caught on the end. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? I don't see any other drains in the house backing up. Is there a better drain auger I could use besides a standard 25ft ridgid hand crank snake? I have several rental properties so would not mind spending more money on a quality snake/auger, especially considering a plumber will cost about $400.

This is a townhome approximately 19 years old, basement is below grade.

Thank you!

Ugh, forget the auger. Found out that the washing machine drains into a sump pit and the check valve for the pump ruptured, spraying water everywhere.
