Hello,

Over at my aunt's home where she's been complaining about a leak and a broken stopper. I've fixed the stopper issue, but the leak is a bit more tricky for my expertise. First thing I noticed is that the P trap is on backwards, and the leak is coming from the connection of the drain to the trap as the water that sits in the drain sits above the joint. The problem seems to be that the drain is just too low for where the pipe comes out of the wall in order to run the trap correctly. Any advice for what I need to do to help stop this leak?

Thank you!

That looks like an awful long pop-up assembly. See if you can find a shorter one. Usually the threads on a good one isn't that long
