I have a leaking under one of the sink drain of 2nd floor. I cut my 1st floor ceiling open and I saw it (image you look up and see what is in the picture):
I feel the water comes from the joint, the lower part is wet. But the water droplet eventually forms on the joint.
I understand the proper way is to cut the straight pipe and redo it. But is there some other easier ways?

- Epoxy putty? Can I use it to build a ring around the joint? Is epoxy durable?
- According to this video (http://www.finehomebuilding.com/2014/01/24/how-to-patch-a-leaky-pvc-water-pipe), if I use ABS glue and a coupler instead. Do you think it could be fixed and last for long time?
