My tool is for making a bead on a supply tube to hold a brass washer ( friction ring ) The bead prevents the tube from sliding out of cone washer. I used to use only rigid supplies back in the day until the supply house quite stocking them Now it's hose assemblies
This is different than an olive ( compression ferrule ) My bead does not seal like an olive ( compression ferrule ) does. The tubing that is beaded is usually annealed/soft tubing. Not hard tube. The brass olive will compress onto the tube making a good water tight seal. Not really sure how tool formed bead on tubing will do the same. A flared end of tube used with a flared fitting is another way to connect make a connection.
