I am remodeling my bath. I have tiled around by deck, so I have; tile, backer board, and plywood around my tub. I have not added the tiling over the areas where the spout, hand shower and water valves will rest. The problem is, my deck is too thick for my very contemporary faucet to fit. The water valves are not long enough to reach the top of the backer board. My husband thinks the cement board and plywood is about 1 1/2" thick.
I love the faucet and it goes with the contemporary look of the rest of my bath but, we are at a loss on this one. How do we fix this? I have been told to think out the plywood or cement board but I dont there would be much left to the decking if we did that.
What are other possible solutions? I have added a pic of what our faucet looks like so you can have a better idea of what we are working with.
All help is appreciated.
