Here is the issue
..
My ball float floor drain is my washing machines current drain. Two to three times a year this will cause a backup into the basement, due to several possible reasons. I think that if I use a stand pipe instead of that floor drain my issues will be resolved.
is the plan ..
I would like to remove the old tee on the kitchen sink drain. Install a 2 sanitary Tee run a new 2 line over to the 1.5 inch vent stack. Then still on 2pipe come back install P-trap and stand pipe. The picture says to cap the old 1.5" line, but i will probably just remove it completely so it is not in the way while working on new plumbing.
Seems straightforward, am I missing anything?
All comments and advice would be graciously accepted!!! I am a fairly experienced DIYer!
Thanks for checking it all out!
