Hello and happy holidays!
I have an issue and was hoping someone could help. I have a one handle shower control, when turned on it starts leaking at the base of the handle and runs over the escutcheon plate into the tub. To turn it in, one need to push up, then horizontally for hot/cold. I can’t find a brand name on any part of this. Do I just need to replace the cartridge? Can anyone identify it and how the cartridge is removed?

Looks like a Delta or Peerless, or maybe a Clone. I've had same thing happen on Delta shower, and, vanity sink faucet. Rebuild kit with a new Stainless Steel ball valve, etc. will probably fix things.
Here's a LINK but this particular one may not be for your model.

Edit: Look on youtube for how-to; If I'm right and this is a Delta, and the ball inside is the plastic version, be sure to buy a kit with the Steel ball --- ask me how I know (LoL)
