Stuck spout adapter

I’m trying to change out our old tub spout for a new one but the adapter is stuck. I can’t get it to budge! Any suggestions? I worked on it for hours yesterday.

It’s a delta spout adapter and it’s most likely soldered on. Typically I would advise a DIY person to just buy another Delta spout and leave the old adapter on the spout pipe and just change the oring that was on the adapter.

But the adapter is ruined now from your pliers.

You’ll need a torch to heat up the adapter until it’ll slide off.

You'll probably have to un-solder it from the back of the faucet.
