Hello,
8 years ago I had my bathroom refitted by a kitchen and bathroom company who have now ceased trading. The shower unit I had was very expensive with multijets and an overhead shower in one fitment. It was a model that was tiled into the wall. Above 3 months ago the shower kept running hot and cold, and the fault was traced to the thermostat of the temperature regulator knob. My plumber was able to get to the thermostat by removing the knob with an allen key. However, to his surprise the thermostat removed was a plastic model unlike in shape the normal brass thermostats he is used too. He has never seen the type before.

We have tried only to locate the makers of the shower unit but there is no name on the unit or the thermostat and pictures do not match anything displayed. I wonder if any plumber, especially those specialising in shower and bathroom fitting, knows of the make of the shower unit and/or the type of the thermostat? I am at the moment faced with cold showers in January or an expensive replacement job of the unit as the tiles need to be removed. Pictures of the unit and the thermostat are attached here.

The cartridge should have numbers on the side of it. A lot of times you can use them to find a replacement. Is there a name or anything on the shower unit?

Hi
No there is no name on the shower unit. The thermostat cartridge had a number but no name. Its now back in the unit as the plumber thought it just needed descaling but its now worse.

I have had some luck finding a cartridge based only on the number on the side, it can be hit or miss though.

Mostly plumbers in the United States here. Try a UK forum. Goodluck.
