Shower problems

The faucet and showerhead in my bathroom have been dripping for quite a while. Now, I can't get them to do anything but drip. That's all I can get it to do, no matter how high I turn the taps. What sort of work would be involved in fixing this? Is it possible water has been leaking behind the wall and there could be mold? Minimum and maximum cost estimates for dealing with this and getting my shower back would be hugely appreciated!

Depending upon the type of valve you have it probably just requires a new cartridge or washer. Can yo post a picture?

Does it have separate valves for the hot and cold or is there one handle for both?
