Shower and toilet

Hello,

After about 5 minutes in the shower the toilet started gurgling and right after that the shower stopped draining. I then got out of the shower and tried to flush the toilet and it would not flush. The water in the toilet went down I a couple of minutes and I was then able to flush it normally. The shower also drained within a short time after getting out. Can you tell me what's up and how to fix this problem?

You have a clog in the drain. You may have to remove the toilet to access the drain or possibly go through the shower drain with a cable snake (drain auger).
Not sure what your skills may be like to accomplish this or if you are comfortable with it.

Sounds like a main line stoppage. If the toilet doesn't flush after using the shower the main line is plugged.
