Hello All,

Bought a repair kit for the Wayne SWS50 shallow well pump,,that is about 10 years old.
This pump had a slow constant drip from shaft seal inside house, basement so replaced with new pump. Now am wanting to use this as an irrigation pump for our expanded truck patch.
For some reason just testing in a five gallon bucket of water the pump just barely flows a little water out of the discharge port. Took the plug out that the nozzle can be cleared out,,and run a piece of solid 10 gauge wire and didn't see any crude come out just to confirm this wasn't the problem.

Anyway,,the seal plate is of course rusted to the actual pump housing and have been banging on it trying to get a cold chisel,,in between the mating surfaces ,, there is a bit of a lip to get in between main housing and seal plate,, but the seal plate simply hasn't even slightly broke loose. I did put a little heat around outside edge of main housing with a little Bunson burner,,,but don't think that will do anything. Also shot some PB Blaster around the mating surfaces as well.
There is simply no place to get the plate popped lose with this design of seal plate.

Looking back,,should have just sprung for a new Pump.. yes,,,hindsight is,,,,
