Hi all, I am new to the forum and I had a quick question. I just finished doing the rough in for my basement bathroom and I realize I might have an issue with the toilet flange because the 3” street elbow is sitting too low in the concrete but high enough that a coupling would make it too high. The flange I have sits over 3” pipe so I’m not really sure how to extend it so I won’t have an issue later. The top of the elbow is about 1 1/2” lower than the concrete. I’ve included a picture to maybe help. Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks for fixing the pictures.

I solved the issue, I took the fitting off by heating a hole saw and removing it. Then I bought a street elbow with two female ends instead of one side being the same diameter as the pipe. This way I just insert the 3” and will cut to size once I backfill and cement and flange will sit perfect

Sorry i am late. You do not want to do that.
here is why,
if you use 3'' to stub out of the concrete , then you will need to wrap the 3'' for the hub to go around the pipe
this seems like no big deal. but. doing so.will remove the concrete from around the pipe and force you to screw the flange to the floor to keep it from moving.

that is a bunch of drama in my opinion

you can simply use a 4x3 closet 90. stub up out of the concrete with 4'' pipe
the concrete will not allow the 4'' to move.
and a 4x3 closet flange fits INTO the 4'' pipe
all you have to do is cut the 4'' flush with the finished floor

thanks, I see what you are saying. Lowe’s didn’t have any so I went with what they have, let me check into it before I start cementing everything. Thanks again.

Ok all done, no headaches later. Third times a charm lol
