Relocating toilet

Redoing the bathroom and want to move toilet to an adjacent wall. Toilet is only 8 years old and works great. Problem is that the 12 inch rough in would put the toilet pvc right at a floor joist . So I could use an offset flange to give me the clearance I need. OR... I could buy a new 14 inch rough in toilet. I have easy access in the basement, suspended ceiling.
Found this Oatey offset flange online, a bit concerned about the metal flange possibly rusting out in time. Your overall advice would be greatly appreciated !

Over time it may rot out but oatley also makes a split ring to replace the rotted one
