Reducing Waste Water?

I'm moving into an apartment that doesn't have in-unit washer/dryer. I decided I'd just get a mini washing machine for my unit, but it kills me to waste water since I don't pay utilities. I was wondering if there was a way to somehow rig up the mini washer to my toilet tank and just have all the washer waste water fill that

Is it a regular apartment small washer or a small portable washing machine.

If like the portable one, could you put it up on a something like an outside table and let the drain go into a 5 gallon bucket to put in the toilet water tank?

Save water another way. Maybe just take a bath every few days rather than every day.
