Hello all - I am a brand new member so hope I am posting correctly. I have a septic system that was pumped 2.5 yrs ago. Late this fall I noticed sulphur odor in the basement after taking a bath, doing laundry, or when my water filter system cycles in the middle of the night. So, really anytime a lot of water is moving though. The source of the odor seems to be coming from my open sump pump area. This basin is not dry, and I have added water and bleach to it, but this has not helped. I am stumped as to why this combination of events might be happening. There is no problems with sinks or toilets. And, after a while the odor disappears, until the next time a large amount of water is used. Anyone have an idea? Thanks.
