I'm replacing our downstairs toilet (the 3rd of 3 to fail this past year, all here when we bought the house) because it is leaking (have tried replacing all the individual parts and nothing has fixed it, not even sure where the leak is coming from). The problem is, it is a very shallow toilet, 9.5" from the wall to the center of the bolts. A 10" rough-in fits, but there is not enough room for the tank on the ones I have tried. I don't know how to search for a bowl+tank combo that will fit in that space. The old toilet is a Briggs, but I can't find any model information.

you can usually find a leak using a flash light and some dry toilet paper. when its wet...their it is

I just toss a bunch of talcum powder on it to find the wet spot.
