Need a new gas water heater, recommendation

Currently have a State "censible" 50 gallon gas water heater, installed in May of 1994, never have had any issues, still working but only get enough hot water for one shower, want to replace before winter. Need recommendations on brand to replace it with would like to stay under $1000 and would love performance and lasting power of current water heater.

State is a good brand. If you're happy with them, stay with them. I install 2-3 State Selects per week...never any issues.
