I've noticed this has been a slowly building issue, till this morning, it hit a new high.

I was in the kitchen this morning, doing a few dishes before heading out to work. My wife just got in the shower at the same time, and flushed the toilet shortly before she got in the shower. When I finished taking care of the dishes, I tried to turn off the water, but, it kept running. Our 'single lever' faucet was VERY loose at the time. When she got out of the shower, the water faucet was a little less loose, and I was able to move it around to make the water turn off at the faucet.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Like I said, I've noticed it getting worse, and this morning was the final 'there's something majorly wrong here' point.

Thanks all for any feedback!
