This ended up a little longer than i intended.. sorry... I've always like these little pumps, I've had a couple model 1-abs that both lasted 15-20 years.i actually still have one acting as a backup. However, I bought a 2-abs model, a little stronger and what I thought was a better switch.. a magnetic float. But it went bad, setting off my water leak alarm when it overflowed. I thought ok, how does this thing work, maybe there is a fix. But they have the switch sealed so there is no way to get into it. I destroyed it trying. So, I cut the wires going into it and connected them just to see if the pump would start.. it cranked right up. In the mean time I ordered another 1-abs and it's installed and works fine. But, I would like to see if I can get the 2-abs working. (By the way, they discontinued the 2-abs model) I just need to find a float switch that I can attach, that works in 2-4 inches of water. Any ideas... couple pics of the 2 pumps, you can see they have sealed the wires in, so you can't work on them easily. (The original ones I had worked on a float with a mercury switch, and not this new style of magnetic switch, that i have no clue how to fix. And thats if i hadnt destroyed it) first one is a 2-abs model.
