Leaking Navien CR-180 Tankless

I have a Navien CR-180 manufactured in 2009 that was already installed in my home when I purchased it.

As crazy as this sounds, it decided to spring 2 separate leaks at the same time.

The first was the water flow adjustment valve, which cost me less than $50 and was a fairly simple fix.

I also have a condensate leak, that after some thorough investigation, I am 95% sure is leaking where the siphon ring
(part # 20007830A) attaches to the bottom of the secondary heat exchanger. This is a $3 part, but I'll probably have to get the board out of the way to change it.

My question(s) are:

1) Does anyone know how the siphon ring connects to the secondary heat exchanger? The drawing in the manual is very vague, and the picture online only shows the box with part label sticker. Is it threaded?

2) Has anyone changed this part? Are there any tips to pass along? Is it possible to change this without moving the board?

Have you contacted Navien. It is only 6/7 years old and maybe they will warranty it.

Actually, yes, I spoke to them again today. And, surprisingly they determined it to be a leaking heat exchanger and gave me a RGA # to bring to my local supply house for a new NPE-180. That's the good news.

The bad news is, my local supply house told me if they didn't sell the unit originally, I would have to pay for a new unit, and would be credited back once Navien credits them. That is not the way the senior tech at Navien told me it would work. So, I called the supply house with the serial # of my CR-180, and am waiting for a call back.The rep at the supply house told me he would also have to charge me something for handling my warranty claim, and to ship my unit back to Navien. Again, I believe that is if they did not originally sell my CR-180.

I did not call Navien looking for a new unit. I called them looking for the answer to the same question I posted here. I was surprised when he told me he was going to authorize a new unit under warranty . I just wanted to know how the siphon ring (49) in the picture I attached connects to the secondary heat exchanger. The drawing is vague, and i was wondering if it is threaded on the inside and screws to a nipple on the bottom of the heat exchanger. If so, a little teflon tape could fix my issue. This is a small leak, and it is condensate, so it's not like it's under pressure.

Explain your situation to Navien. I found their customer service top notch, and even had a specialist go to my house and worked with the contractor to make sure my new Navien was installed correctly. Yeah, the factory is only 30 minutes from my house, so don't count on this.
