Having to replace our sump pump and turns out also needing to replace our junction box.

This would be our first time doing this..any tips?

I am aware of avoiding silicone and needing special wire nuts.

Is there a reason to have outside the tank vs inside? Right now the cable glands broke off so water was getting in. We are fixing tomorrow once the part store opens up.

It must be a common thing in my area because that’s how all of ours are installed. I will have to look into bringing it outside the tank..
It is what it is. Some places that’s how they do it, but that doesn’t mean I like it. You can of course keep it like it is.

If I have the choice of mounting a junction box inside a pit or high and dry then most of the time I’ll pick the dry location. It just makes sense to me.
