Hi,

I am new to the forum and hopefully posting this in the right place. I'm trying to replace my existing kitchen tap+faucet with a new mixer and having trouble figuring out how to remove this tap fitting. I have a feeling that the two U shaped notches (circled in photo) have something to do with it but can't find a tool to undo it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Victor

If you're removing to replace, then just grab it with some pliers and twist it off.

Otherwise you can use a stiff piece of metal that will span both cutouts and twist.

Or simply use a hammer and a screwdriver to tap that counterclockwise. You may want to spray some penetrant on it first. I would suggest something other than WD40.
