How do I get the top off?

I'm trying to take the top of this fill valve (see attached pic) off so I can check the rubber gasket assembly but this one looks different from the ones I have seen. I'm trying to not break it.

What are you looking to check? There is nothing inside to visually "check". If you are having problems with the fill valve, replace the whole thing and be done with it.

Got it, thanks guys. I thought this model would have a rubber gasket underneath like other models I've seen. I'll go ahead and replace the fill valve.
