I have a very strange (I think) situation in my home. Ours is a two storey home in Houston and the water heater is in the attic. The hot water comes in normal time in all the shower heads and faucets around the home except kitchen sink. In the kitchen sink, it takes forever for the hot water to come. In the powder room which is a few feet away from the kitchen sink there is no such issue. In order to have some hot water, I have turned off the cold water. Now the time needed is less but still unusually long. Also it seems to me that when I close the line seem to lose heat pretty rapidly (may be it is my feeling). There is no cold stuff where the pipe runs.

I am unable to figure out what causes the kitchen sink (and only kitchen sink) to act this way. Any comments/insights are highly appreciated.
