Help on replacing shower trim/spout

Hello. Purchased a Moen combo set, model Brecklyn 82611srn. I removed my current trim knob, and can not locate the screw to remove the trim. I am not completely sure I am able to even use my new combo set, with my old outdated plumbing. My house is a 90's build. If this combo set won't work with my current plumbing, can anyone recommend which sets would be plug and play? I don't want to rip off the trim plate until I know for sure this setup will work. This new set has screws located on the trim, and my current one has no screws, so I'm not sure what trim pattern I need.
