i bought a 2 inch flush valve replace ment kit for my toilet after getting the tank off i discovered the part is too big to fit my older 1955 eljer toilet. I don't know where I can buy one that is smaller that I can use,.

Eljer didn't have a flush valve in 1955. The flush ball seat was part of the tank casting. From what I remember they used lift wires and a flush ball. There also was a tank to bowl gasket that fit onto the bowl as there was no flush valve.
