I had a leak in the hot water supply under my kitchen sink a couple of months ago, and took out the old braided connector. The yellow gasket on the end closest to the faucet was melted, allowing water to escape.
Put in a new one and now that one is leaking too, and I suspect it's also melted. The leak hisses as if it's under pressure, but is a very slow leak.
My hot water is not set at a very high temperature--160 degrees.
What is causing this? Are there any flexible connectors with gaskets that won't melt like this?
Thank you!
