My sink stopper seems to be broken. The water is not draining.
I tried searching on the internet but was unable to find a fix for my type of sink setup.
I am not a professional plumber. I am the first time home owner and has little to no clue about how to fix things, but would very much want to do the fix myself.

I am posting some pics. Any help is much appreciated.

I've seen those. Someone thought "HEY!! let's get rid of that mechanical rod and lever and try something new.
The flexible wire control rod was a great idea, BUT the mechanism at the end that lifts the pop-up drain was NOT.

That shaft sticking out of the side of the drain assemble if I recall will come off of the drain assembly.
There is a small disc with teeth on the end of wire mechanism and another in the drain. the wire rotates the disc which raises and lowers the pop-up drain.

I just found it paired up with an American Standard Faucet on Amazon.com

Call A.S. Maybe they will send you a replacement
