Expansion Tank

I took the expansion tank off my old hot water heater that died and was going to put it on the new one, same size, but wanted to check if that was okay to do. Seems like an easy enough question but thought I would check. It seems to be fine and nothing else is different, the new water heater is a 40 gallon also, so thought I would check.

I would replace it, considering that an expansion tank is not all that expensive, and you already have it off.

If its not broke why replace? Slap it on there
