Hello,

I have a drum trap beneath my bathtub and recently noticed that if too much water is drained from the tub, then the drum trap will overflow.

Should I purchase a 15' auger and snake the drain that exits the drum trap? The drum trap had some debris ( soap scum, hair, etc. ) which I thoroughly cleaned, but still am experiencing water overflowing from the drum trap if too much water is released from the bathtub.

I'm assuming that some debris ( found in drum trap ) is possibly blocking the drain that exits from the drum trap.

Is it safe to use a drum auger to possibly locate a clog within the drain?

Thanks for any assistance.

Drum traps DO NOT overflow, they are part of a watertight system. If your's is overflowing it is rusted out and must be replaced.
